The Frances Pope Memorial Foundation is a not-for-profit organization named in memory of Franny Pope, who was born in 1980 and died of leukemia at the age of two. Following her death, her parents, Mary O'Dowd and Tony Pope, dedicated themselves to helping families caring for a child with cancer by forming The Frances Pope Memorial Foundation.
On February 17, 1982, Anna Quindlen wrote a beautiful tribute to this endeavor in the New York Times. It sums up the spirit of this organization beautifully and it is the genesis of The Frances Pope Memorial Foundation of today.
